Wildstar Online Class Guide

In terms of what classes are available, Wildstar brings a couple of classes that many people will be familiar with, but also a few new ones. These new classes can be likened to classes from other “traditional” MMOs, so I’ve created a table below that can be used for reference.Of course, the table above does not mean that the classes map to each other exactly, but it is meant to give you an idea of what to expect from each class’s play style. Now, let’s get into more detail on each class.

Warrior
The Wildstar warrior plays pretty much like a typical warrior–by beating their opponents to death. The Wildstar warrior engages in combat using brute force and their Power Sword, a fusion accelerated bringer of death. As in most MMOs, the warrior wears heavy armor, which means they can take a beating as well as they give one.One difference between the usual MMO warrior and the Wildstar warrior is that Wildstar warriors also have a ranged weapon included as part of their armaments: the arm cannon! While the Power Sword is used just for bringing the pain, the arm cannon is actually like a multi-tool… it can shoot baddies, grapple suckers, power saw faces, and even water flowers.

Warrior Races
The races that can play as a warrior are Human, Granok, Mordesh, Cassian, Mechari, and Draken.Warrior Roles
The warrior can fulfil two roles: melee DPS, and tank.

As a tank, the stats for a warrior are Technology, Insight, and Grit.

Spellslinger
The Spellslinger in Wildstar can be thought of as a gun fighter with spells, who’s also got crazy acrobatic skills. Weilding dual pistols, these agile combatants are capable of dealing great damage while avoiding taking damage altogether. They also use void magic to mess a fool up, or to heal their allies.Spellslingers are casters, so that means they wear light armor. Fortunately, their great agility, as well as the ability to teleport around, makes it hard to hit them.

Illusions are a big part of Esper game play; using illusions, the Esper can smite their enemies by conjuring nightmare attacks, or heal their allies with beneficial dreams. As a caster, the Esper wears light armor, but they have access to abilities such as Displace to help them avoid damage.

The Engineer is a ranged class whose weaponry includes bots, an exo-suit, and guns… big guns! The Engineers bots are capable of doing DPS, healing, tanking, and CC, and it’s the Engineer who has control over them. The Engineer’s gun, called a launcher, gives the ability to DPS at range and even call in air strikes, while the exo-suit allows the Engineer to tank up… literally! As a heavy armor wearer, the Engineer is able to absorb a lot of damage, making them good tanks, but their artillery also makes them good for providing DPS.

Medic
The medic is a high-tech, close range healer, and damage dealer. The medic is equipped with resonators, stations, and probes, and the class is designed to be very mobile.Resonators emit high powered fields that heal allies and melt enemies over a short period of time, while stations are stationary fields that can be placed strategically on the battlefield to mend friends and eliminate enemies.Probes are devices that can be placed on both allies and foes, and they provide all kinds of stuff, like healing, damage, buffs, and debuffs. Oh, and you can trigger probes to detonate too.The Medic wears medium armor, so taking a couple of hits from trash mobs isn’t that big a deal… besides, you can just heal yourself anyhow.

They are masters of martial arts, and they use their great agility to chain lightning quick, position-based, attack combos into an array of death. The Stalker’s nano-skin allows them to siphon life, absorb damage, create clones, and of course, turn invisible (even in combat).Though they wear medium armor, the Stalker is able to mitigate damage via damage absorbsion, courtesy of their nano-skin, or by dodging it altogether. This makes the Stalker excellent at DPS, as well as tanking.
